Answer: The key activities of PASARC are research, trainings and publication.
3. What is the Vision and mission statement of the INSTITUTE?
Vision: To be a center of excellence for unbiased and impartial public policy, urban planning and development research and capacity building of public and non-profit sectors.
Mission: To contribute to improved governance leading to better overall quality of life for all people by engaging in high quality, impartial research and training activities informing policy formulation and implementation.
4. Who Are We?
Answer: PASARC is a venture by the Pakistan Administrative Service (P.A.S) serving and retired officers to provide research based consultancy and training support to issues related to the public sector.It creates a state of the art research center to bridge the gap between practice and research.
5. What We Do?
PASARC informs governance processes, by conducting systematic research on issues of public policy, urban planning and development, through a team of highly qualified, experiences and motivated persons belonging to the public sector, the non-governmental sector, industry, and academia.
Most of PASARC current research focuses on Governance, Social-Economic Development, and Urban Affairs.
PASARC also assists in capacity building by developing training modules and by imparting training to professional of the international, national, regional and local public sector organizations.
6. What are the Aim & Objectives of PASARC ?
With the aim of building a better future together, PASARC has the following objectives:
Conducting high quality, theory based, impartial research on topics related to public policy, urban planning and development.
Becoming the prestigious data warehouse of accurate, verifiable, reliable and current data related to topics of public policy, urban planning and development, for the benefit of policy research by PASARC and by researchers around the globe.
Improving governance and quality of life for all people through ethical, impartial and sound research. Organizing seminars, meetings, conferences and awareness sessions.
Employing research and trainings to building and strengthening grass-roots local neighbourhoods and communities for meaningful democracy.
Encourage interactions and exchange of ideas among the scholarly communities of governance around the globe .
Bridging the gap between theory and practice in public policy, urban planning, governance, public administration and governance.
Promoting human rights, and rights of marginalized sections, including, children, elderly, women, handicapped, minorities, etc.
7. What type of Research PASARC Doing?
PASARC’s research is diverse and multi-disciplinary, but focuses on governance processes and issues of public significance, in general to inform policy formulation and implementation.
PASARC conducts quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods research in the following general areas:
Primary data (quantitative and qualitative) collection and maintenance, using methods which include, but are not limited to, interviews, surveys, focus groups, document analysis, observational analysis, etc.
Data analysis using quantitative and qualitative analyses methods, including, statistical modeling and analysis, such as regression analyses, factor analysis,etc.
Research on public policy, urban planning, and development.
8. What type of Training PASARC Doing?
PASARC conducts capacity building trainings of civil servants, teachers, researchers, volunteers, and employees of international agencies and organizations.
These trainings are conducted in-house, as well as in the PASARC auditorium and in other centrally located hotels, seminar halls, etc. in all major cities of Pakistan and the world.
The topics of trainings vary from disaster risk reduction to child protection and welfare; from agriculture to industry; health, education, finance, etc.
